Friday Fashion at Holton

Everyone has a different style when it comes to free dress on Fridays. Some people like to dress up while others prefer to stay comfy. Let’s look at some of the outfits that people donned on Friday.

When I first came to Holton, I was worried about what to wear on Friday. I didn’t know if everyone would dress in cute outfits or if it was more casual: turns out, it’s both. Though the majority of Holton (including me now) wears sweatpants and sweatshirts on Friday, as can be seen in photo 4, others choose to mix it up.

Jeans (photos 2, 3, 5, 6) are another popular choice of bottoms. They can be paired with a cute sweater like EvaJolie does in photo 2 or with a shirt and button-up sweater as seen in photo 6. Sweatshirts also go well with jeans (3, 5) and can add a flare to the outfit. Additionally, I wanted to mention the heart necklace worn in photo 5 because it looks cute and pairs great with the jeans and sweatshirt.

Besides jeans and sweatpants, many students wear leggings as evident, modeled by Sabrina, in photo 8. Brown pants are also worn in photo 6, paired with a white belt, a flannel jacket and a black cropped shirt. Also: not so commonly seen, but highly fabulous are the green, striped pants in photo 1. They go great with the black, long-sleeve shirt and boots, which brings us to another important part of an outfit: the shoes.

Frequently seen on the Holton campus are Ugg slippers, demonstrated by the student on the left in photo 5. These comfy shoes make you feel like you never got out of bed at all! In addition to Ugg slippers, white shoes seem to be the move to make as they are visible in photos 3 through 8. Although similar, these white shoes do differ in brand and style. Converse (2, 3) are also a great choice of shoe for any outfit.

Next up: hair. Some people choose to wear their hair down (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8), or with a slight twist like how Sabrina (8) pulls half of her hair into a ponytail behind her head. Billi (3) also wears her hair styled with hearts on her head; what a perfect hairstyle for Valentine’s Day! Others choose to wear their hair in buns (3, 5) or in ponytails (1, 4, 7), both great styles for Friday.

We’ve finally come to the last part of the outfit, which many may not even think of when getting dressed in the morning: masks. As shown in photos 1-3 and 5-7, black masks are a popular choice because they go with any outfit. Different colored surgical masks (3, 4, 5, 8) are also worn often because they give a pop of color. Sometimes you will also see someone wearing a Holton mask, such as the one in photo 6.

So, now that we have taken a look at what other people wear, what will you wear next Friday?
