Why Pasta is the Best Food Ever Invented

Hey, everyone!!!! Today, I am writing a blog about my favorite food: pasta. Whether it is in the form of gnocchi, mac and cheese or just plain, I can never get over how good pasta is. Now, I’ve never been to Italy, so I may not be an expert, but here are a few of my favorite places in the DMV to get some yummy noodles.

1. Vapianos - Multiple Locations

Vapianos could quite possibly be my favorite restaurant. I love how you get to go up and watch the chefs cook and how all of their pastas are so delicious. My favorite dishes are the Shrimp Scampi, Ravioli Con Carne and the Carbonara.

2. Maggiano's - Multiple Locations

Anyone who knows me well won’t be surprised by this because I honestly think that if you are in the mood for a wholesome bowl of pasta, no matter what, you won’t be disappointed by Maggiano's. My favorite dishes to order are the Gnocchi & Italian Sausage and Maggiano’s Famous Rigatoni “D” (rigatoni with chicken, mushrooms, caramelized onions and cream sauce).

3. Bazin’s on Church - Falls Church, VA

My family goes to Bazin’s on Church every Christmas Eve, so it wouldn’t be Christmas without gnocchi with bolognese sauce! Gnocchi are of my favorite dishes of all time no matter where I go.

4. Founding Farmers - Multiple Locations

I love going to Founding Farmers because of the delicious comfort food, especially the mac and cheese that comes with the fried chicken and waffles. The mac and cheese is super cheesy and has such great flavor that pairs really well with the sweetness of the waffles and the saltiness of the fried chicken.

5. Il Canale - Georgetown, D.C.

Il Canale is another nice place to find great Gnocchi with bolognese sauce and other pasta dishes that I’ve yet to try. The gnocchi is really fresh and complements the meat sauce super well.

6. Earl’s - Tysons Corner

Earl’s has more of a variety of dishes on the menu, but I really like the fettucini with alfredo sauce and chicken for a creamy bowl of pasta. The parmesan flavor of the alfredo sauce really sets it apart.

7. Holton-Arms - Bethesda, MD

All jokes aside, tortellini day. Enough said.
